Way Out West

Hello from Washington!

This is the 3 munchkins before we get on the first plane.

Our trip out was fairly easy and I think the bigger boys actually enjoyed it. Here is a pic from the second plane ride after a three hour delay in Chicago.

All the boys slept on the second plane so we stayed up "late" by east coast standards but got to bed just a bit past the usual on west coast time. The time change was not as bad as I worried about. Friday after we arrived we showed the boys the house and I refreshed my own memory on it and then we visited E's new school. Saturday was spent working at the house and trying to run the boys so they would be tired but not so tired that went to sleep too early. Sunday we took the kids to Seattle for the day. Not really a day since it took all of 20 minutes to get there. Public Market was fun--- not much fish throwing as no one was buying. OK restaurant for lunch. We then ventured over to the Space Needle.

It is hard to believe but I did go up and did not throw up. Though there was much hand holding so children wouldn't "fall off" over the four foot fences around the edges. Any child who put their hands on top of the rails was scolded by panic-y mommy. Got a few really good pics though. My biggest boy took quite a few holding the camera past the railing; again I was irrational thinking the wieght of the camera might pull D down over the side to his untimely demise.

On Monday we ran around learning the new city and went to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. Beautiful but really cold. There is an old fort there, logging camp, beach and zoo. Too cold to do any of these, but looking forward to warmer weather.

Tuesday, E's first day at new school went terrific and the truck came.

Wednesday, unpacking. Thursday, unpacked to the point that we could stay in the house. Let me say that it had nothing to do with the fact we did not have TV hooked up and I wanted to be in the apartment for Tuesday and Wednesday' American Idol--- mere coincidence. Friday, unpack.

Saturday and Sunday-- unpack final boxes and straighten up the house. Crazy biggest boy decides to hang pics Sunday night at 9 after the kids are in bed--expecting my participation he does get it but with quite a bit of sarcasm. Hanging pics is not high on the list of things to do for me. Straightening out the disaster area we are currently living in after unpacking is much higher on the list.

This week has been a blur of straightening, running errands and delivery and people hooking things up.
Virginia comes to mind often; we are missing the Bradington bunch terribly. It is a little lonely here but hopefully we are settled enough to venture out and about soon and begin making friends.
Love and hugs to all.
