Can We Talk About the Weather?

Sorry for the title rip off REM. So far I have found the weather interesting and so far the rain is not that annoying. It was getting to be a bit much and then we were granted today as a reprive from the gloom; it is sunny, 50, and windy. The wind bothers me more than the rain. If the rain was a constant downpour it might be more daunting and gloomy but it will sprinkle for 15 minutes and then just be cloudy followed by a burst of sun, sun while sprinkling for 10 minutes, cloudy again, downpour, windy and cloudy. Most evenings D and I take turns walking past the window or turning on the lights to see if it is "snaining"; see , we have even created a new word for when rain and snow showers mix. It snains most evenings which would be rain, mixing with snow, then it straight snows for a few minutes and then changes back into rain. No accumulation yet all the excitement of snow--- nice.
Everyone at the bus stop keeps promising that if we like it now and chose to live here in Nov./Dec. then this summer we will be blown away by how beautiful it is. I have also been assured by several people who came here from the Southeast that AC in the house is really not necessary--- as a southern girl I think I need to live through a summer without to believe it.
I even got out into the yard today with G while M napped---- a bit of a mess due to neglect last summer when the previous owners were not here. Thistle, thistle, thistle. Luckily they left me their Roundup. Several of my lavenders are overtaken with grass and I need moss killer for the edges of the driveway. Hopefully the weather will hold out for tomorrow.
In Virginia, if you don't like the weather-- just wait a day.
In Washington, if you don't like the weather--- just wait 15 minutes. No, really.... 15 minutes.
Love and hugs,
B

Glad to hear you guys are coping with the crazy weather well. If it was me out there, I'd probably pull a "Britney" and end up in the psych ward! Oh well, summer will be here before you know it and it sounds like it will be worth the wait. Take care!

Hugs,
Jill
