Where the Wild Things Are....

When I was pregnant with M I thought "How cute! Just like in Sendak's book (one of my favorites)!" I even bought my Max his own stuffed Max in his wolf suit and one of the stuffed wild things for him to play with.

LET THE WILD RUMPUS BEGIN!

If he doesn't wake up with screeching then he wakes up yelling for DA!DA!DA!DA! louder than humanly possible. We bring him in to cuddle in our bed and he stands over us and body slams us until we just get up--D usually takes the brunt of this. M then begins his day of looking for trouble. At meals he is eating or pointing and grunting for more or signals he is done by clearing his tray (an expert at both the single arm sweep and the piece by piece methods). He is everything you might want in a job canidate: young, aggressive, smart, a real go-getter, and a terrific problem solver. Lets say he wants to clear the bottom 2 shelves of the pantry but I keep interupting. He will pretend to vacate the area, wait until I am occupied elsewhere, check that I am truly busy with a cruise by the room I am in, and then he heads right to the target. Favorite activities include: clear the pantry, bookshelf climbing, toss it in the toilet, light on/light off, attack the brother, pen pen who's got the pen, table surfing and the ever popular, run for the busy road. I know he is an average toddler, but I think after laid-back G he seems more difficult. G still can't stay mad for more than a minute and never got the hang of tantrum throwing--- we are paying for that with M. He can already toss his little body on the floor and screech like a pro. Unfortunately for him D and I just laugh and walk away.

He does have his cute moments (which may be why we haven't offered him up for auction on eBay).
Today he was running after the dogs at the bus stop yelling "Kitty! Kitty!" And when you sit on the floor to read him a story he stands in front of you and backs into your lap. And he can high 5 you and give the biggest smile. And , well, it's good that there are a few reasons to keep him.

Can you believe these pics are the same kid? Could he look meaner while wrestling with G?

love and hugs and if M is missing for a few blog entries in a row, you might check eBay,
B

Awwwwww....

I miss you guys! We are doing great. Spring is peeking around the corner. Your early bulbs are up and grass is getting cut for the first time today. Mulch beds are being tended and bushes trimmed. Ah.... Spring!

And this is Scott. I just realized Dinah was logged in.

Too funny! It's no surprise really...even in the womb he was causing trouble! Always different from the rest! Man, I wish I could see those boys in action. I really miss you guys. Take care!

Love,
Jill
