- My children will always order pasta if it is available on a restaurant menu. I note this because it annoys me to no end that we pay $5 for a meal I could make for less than $1 at home.
- If I have a coupon for something, I feel wasteful not using it--even when it is something I don't need. And I know the store is just sending a coupon to lure me in to spend more money there.
- D took me to buy a birthday gift and I couldn't find a single thing I liked. Sad. :(
- The LEGO store. I do love LEGO, but today I feel that they are too complicated in their fancy sets and the kids get frustrated trying to make it just like the box. If it isn't like the box then they feel it is wrong. E really wants the Taj Mahal set for $300. Sorry, not going to happen. I think he should just gather all the white lego he has and create it himself. One thing I do like about the lego store is the back wall of bricks in unique colors and 'fancy' pieces where you can pick a cup and choose the ones you want. Yesterday G and I chose gates, picket fence, fires, antenae, trees, parts that make things turn, propellers, lights, and flowers. Now they can add it to their box of lego in the playroom and make interesting new things from their very own imagination.
love and hugs, B

I despise those LEGO kits. They are expensive, beyond my attention span to assemble, and how long does the average kid keep the item intact anyway? Maybe they will make sense to me when my boys are older.
For now, we have all of the LEGO pieces that my older nephews outgrew, pieces that will never, ever be reassembled into what they once were but we sure have fun with them (and we find the most interesting pieces in the mix).
