Little Gardens for Little Gardeners

Part of the fun of summer is doing small projects with the kids.  As we bounced around ideas for things to make this summer they all adored the idea of tiny garden boxes for their rooms.   Each boy got to pick his own container, plants, and we will accessorize with tiny furniture as we find it to make them look like real gardens.  This was also practice for me in making a demonstration series of pictures.  Not great, but everybody has to start somewhere.
Here are the materials.
The container with a liner since they chose a basket. E refused the plastic plant tray and used a gallon food storage bag as his liner.

 Filling with dirt.

Planting their tiny plants in the garden boxes.
Completed gardens with little stone paths.  They each also chose where to set their garden box in their room.
love and hugs and they are never to young to have their own garden, B
