My Favorite Things

Hey, everyone with a blog is doing it. Listing their favorite things that is. It may sound crazy, but here are a few of my favorite things:
  • Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel Stamper. Yes, it's sad but true. They have changed my bathroooms. They smell fabulous. I have boys and boys are disgusting.
  • the iTouch. When D got it for me I wasn't even sure what it was or what it was for. Now I can check email in a click or the weather in a click or the find fun facts in a click. And that brings me to my next favorite thing....
  • The "LoseIt!" app on my iTouch. In thinking about ways to lose weight I was writing down everything I ate, until 4 weeks ago when I found this free app. I use it to track what I eat, how many calories, how much and type of exercise, specific nutrition information (like fat intake every day), and track progress. I am addicted; not really, but almost. It has made me really measure to look at portion sizes and I stop to think (and sometiems to check) how many calories something is before I eat it. I feel really good about the change it has made in my thinking about food. I even pulled off all the crispy, yummy goodness from my fried chicken the other night. And I am down to one cup of Coke a day; still regular Coke but one cup is better than what it used to be. If I want a treat I can go right into my daily journal and see if I have earned it. Swimsuit season is coming (HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA! You have to laugh; I have given birth to three tiny and delicate 8-9 pound boys. HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!)
  • My camera. Canon Powershot. LOVE IT! I take pics and have learned a lot about editing them on the camera. There are still bunches of settings I don't understand, but that is what summer is for: to do camera tutorials on the computer while the kids play. Also I just found a photo editing software on my computer that I didn't even know I had. I will have to do before and after editing pictures sometime.
  • TV OnDemand. I have always loved the OnDemand concept. It makes the VCR obsolete (don't say VCwhat?). I can find a show I want or exercise or a time waster for the kids or have a movie night with D. Nice.
  • The 4 slice toaster. I made breakfast move twice as fast-- you would think I could connect the dots and figure that a 5 person family needs a 4 slice toaster. We had the toaster that is also a toaster oven all in one; I was excited about it at first, but again with 5 people you can't fit enough portions of anything in a toaster oven.

OK, so those are a few of my favorite things right now. Sad though they may be.

love and hugs, B
