One Year Ago

One year ago M's leg was broken and we began ten weeks in a body cast. OK, he was in the cast, but we all felt trapped by it. It was an interesting journey that made our family stronger; not that I would ever choose a toddler in a body cast. We all learned a lot from it. Here are some pics.

It is a blessing that M is totally recovered and you would never know from watching him that his leg was broken. The next time you scold your children or tell them to stop doing something remind them it is not just because you are bossy, it is for their safety and the safety of those around them. The next time you are going over the edge about something you find annoying, but is not a true safety concern, take a step back and a deep breath and relax (you there, typing this thing--take note of that last statement).

I was going to add our favorite video to prove that there is a silver lining to every situation and that toddlers are the most adaptive creatures. The video posting component decided not to work today so I will try to link the post in here. Just click that word and it will take you there (I hope).
