A Day in DC

We headed off for our first adventure on the east coast Saturday. DC. We would like to do several trips to DC since there is so much to do there, but we started on a one day overview trip. Our goal was to see the monuments...

spend time with my sister and her munchkins....
take some photos of the cherry trees in full bloom around the tidal basin....

and possibly get a few pics of the boys that I could use as spring pictures instead of taking the boys to a photo studio.....

I would have to say mission accomplished and then some. Due to bad weather (see the White House picture with large dark cloud looming) we ducked into a Smithsonian for cover and grabbed lunch. Took the opportunity to give the kids a quick tour around the Smithsonian to see what it is like-- not sure they liked walking around not being able to manhandle everything.
All in all a wonderful day and there is not a single thing I would've changed. Even the hail and running through the rain to catch the Metro was fun.
love and hugs and really happy we are back to having an adventure once in a while,
B
