A Bouquet for You!!!

Flowers from my yard.
First up I had never had a true classic southern magnolia. Was expecting great things and am getting mediocre things. It did flower nicely but I didn't realize it has very tender blooms--they literally fried in the heat here. Here's hoping the seed pods in fall are more interesting and hardy.

These little babies are just starting to bloom but are nearly overpowered by the leading ladies in my yard. These are Four O'Clocks-- sweet flowers, nice foliage, hold up well to heat, drought and bugs(so far). Four O'Clocks will become a star in the yard next year.

Presetning the stars of the show fo this year: zinnia! I dabbled with these last time we lived here, then tried them in the Pacific northwest but they need sun and heat apparently. These were all grown from seed and I will definitely use these next year. They are a very cottage flower which looks great next to our green house.

I grew a dwarf variety of sunflowers in pots this year. They were stunning.

Have a very happy day! love and hugs, B
