Challah

For years I was a yeast bread failure. Challah was my first bread disaster--a football like loaf. A regular white loaf--flat. Even frozen bread dough withered in my presence. Last year I quaked in fear when "risen bread dough--unbaked" was listed on G's preschool snack calendar on his day. I bought the frozen dough and carefully studied the instructions for days. The day of snack I followed each step precisely and the dough rose. And the kids said it was delicious. And my confidence grew. I baked a loaf from frozen dough to go with dinner one night. Again it worked and the curse seemed to be lifted. I graduated to baking bread from scratch. Most successes, once in a while a football.
Today I tried baking challah again.
Success!

Baked beautifully.

And passed the taste test.
love and hugs and fresh bread is yummy, B
