To Vashon Island

We went to Vashon Island over the weekend. We picked a beautiful day. Vashon is a quick ferry ride (any ferry ride is fun; though by this time next year D may not agree).
We arrived with hungry monsters so we headed into the little town and ate lunch and then walked around. Cute. Little. E is fascinated with living there since the only way to it is by ferry. Of course he is fascinated bythe idea of living in Canada too. We then headed to Pt. Robinson lighthouse. Again, any trip with a lighthouse is a hit with our crew. The beach was very Pacific Northwest, covered in rocks (perfect for tossing into the water) and big sticks and logs(great for climbing and carrrying and hitting brothers). Washington was created just for boys. A rare clear, sunny, warm day for March.

I think we tired them out; hoped for naps on the way home, but no luck.

OK, now for my obsession. Pictures of Old Man Rainier aka Mr. Volcano aka Mt. Rainier (or his true Native American name Mt. Tahoma). Which is the best pic? Can't decide? I have lots more shots, but even I got tired of editing them.
You never thought I would say it, but he does look the same in every picture. Maybe I will stop posting pics and everyone will have to visit to see him.
Ending with various pictures from our walk through the woods and on the beach.
Found a shark's eye shell, but not a single sand dollar.

When we first moved here I hated rock beaches. Now I realize they are much more practical than that messy sand everywhere.
I love moss.....as long as it is not on my house.
love and hugs, B
